Still within the boundaries of Towne Lake is a community of subdivisions and multi-use complexes. When you turn at the traffic light controlling both parkways into Wyngate you will notice immediately the conveniently located office complex which is home to a number of medical offices including eye, chiropractic and other medical professions. Just beyond that is the local elementary school perched high on hill. When you visit there you will likely see happy children playing in the fenced in playground vigilantly watched by a number of staff or faculty. Continuing along Wyngate Parkway you will begin to tour a parade of several subdivisions in a long stretch of wooded real estate:

• Somerset

• Fox Glen
• Wyngate
• Camden
• Hawthorne
• Deer Creek
• Southport

These subdivisions can be accessed by one point from Towne Lake Parkway or by one of two points from Bells Ferry Road. Any of the entries are convenient to Hobgood Park, a baseball, tennis, track and field facility for the Towne Lake community. If these amenities are not convenient enough, Wyngate offers its own version of recreation facilities in two locations to accommodate all seven of the subdivisions: one North, one South, for a total of:

• 1 unlighted tennis courts
• 4 lighted tennis courts
• 2 pools
• 2 clubhouses
• 2 playgrounds
• 1 basketball court

The south recreational complex is more woodsy than the north complex and houses 2 of the 4 lighted courts and the only non-lighted tennis court. There is ramp access to the clubhouse and large deck level which overlooks the courts and further down to the tennis court/playground level. The north recreational facility has a sunnier feel although a grove of trees outlines the venue. It offers a small covered pavilion which overlooks the courts where teams can spread out their refreshments. When you visit, ask the locals to explain who “Uncle John” is, the name of the courts located here. Also offered is a pool, playground area, picnic pavilion and a basketball court - all accessible by sidewalks and parking lot.

Wyngate is located about 5 miles northwest of I-575, off exit 8, on Towne Lake Parkway. Turn right onto Wyngate Parkway.
